Gel Manicure Heat spikes | Why does Builder gel Burn when curing
Welcome to the club of heat spikes ! If you have had a structure gel manicure then you are very familiar with the dreadful heat spike that usually comes with this type of manicure .

If you are new to getting gel manicures or just still wondering why you get the these heat spikes when your hand hits the UV light I'm here to educate you and calm your worries. First off it's normal in most cases for you to feel heat when your nails are curing in the lamp( I go into detail below) . Hey I never said it was comfortable and It definitely comes as a shock for most people but it's not unusual.
Here's what's happening :
The heat spike happens when the gel release heat during the curing process. If it's temperature starts to climb higher then the ideal temp then that's usually when you might start to notice the hot sensation on your nails as the light is in the curing process.
Some of the reasons you could be getting a heat spike:
Your nail beds are DAMAGED ( This could be due to someone over drilling your nails or your nails being pulled off)
The wrong lamps are being used to cure the nails. (Very rare because most lamps today are made to use with any product )
Too much product is being applied at once
You're nail tech should already be looking over your nail beds and can see if you have any damage that could cause the heat spike . She usually will give you a heads up that you might get a heat spike while your nails are curing .
